How to make rice with vegetables for dieting
Ingredients
- Vegetable oil: a large spoon
- Onion: 1 cup (minced)
- Carrots: 1 grain (grated)
- Broccoli: half a cup (small flowers)
- Red pepper: 1 piece (minced small cubes)
- Garlic: clove (mashed)
- Water: 3 cups (or vegetable broth)
- Basmati rice: one and a half cups (washed and drained)
- Salt: teaspoon
- Black pepper: half a teaspoon
How to prepare
1. Heat the oil in a non-stick saucepan over medium heat.
2. Add onions, carrots, broccoli, red pepper, garlic and heart for 5 minutes.
3. Add chicken broth, salt, pepper, rice and mix to boil.
4. After boiling, reduce the heat and cover the pot and leave on low heat for 25 minutes or until the rice is cooked.
